Warp silk print from France is the epiphany of style and sophistication. Stanislas Leszczyński (1677-1766), who was the King of Poland twice and later the Duke of Lorraine is known for commissioning the Place Stanislas in Nancy, France, a beautiful square and UNESCO World Heritage site. This warp print is a reproduction from historical textile used in the Palace. The silk sashes are a Trompe-l’œil, “printed” onto the warp yarn, then woven into a highly nuanced and fluid pattern. One yard takes hours to produce. More is more. Roses, carnations, daisies, lush foliages are tied by silk sashes, twisted gently into garlands. Imagine decorate your column or dining table this way, or use this silk to fool our eyes but console our heart with its genuine beauty.
