Product Information:
Balik is a truly timeless hand crewel. Please see the it on the screen of Elysian Bar in New Orleans www.theelysianbar.com.
Wool thread is meticulously embroidered onto heavy jute basecloth. This is rather unusual because right now most similar crewel are done on cotton, yet jute was more historically accurate.
This simple yet sophisticated tree of life pattern originated in India, populated to whole Europe by the British Import starting in early 1700s, then rest of the globe. Good design belongs to the world.
