This hand print on cotton velvet is landscape, architecture, decoration and history all wrapped into one. The palace among lush plantations and decorative jewels can be seen as the lavish wedding for Princess Gulchihra.
Gulchihra literally means “A Face like Flowers” in Persian, a princess of Mughal Empire. The fascinating history of Mughal Empire where different cultures met and transformed each other. She was a descendant of the lines of highest Central Asian aristocracy: Timur through his son Miran Shah, and Genghis Khan through his son Chagatai Khan.
The prints are immaculately executed and the colors masterfully fine tuned, this print is a piece of art and art history. The velvet pile offers extra vibrancy to the dye. The hand and texture so pleasant yet steady, this creation by Brunschwig & Fils will last for decades.
