DESIGN INSPIRATION:
Suleyman, inspired by Turkish Ottoman design of botany, is rich as a Turkish rug.
Suleiman the Magnificent was the longest-reigning sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1520 until his death in 1566. A poet, goldsmith, he personally instituted major judicial changes of the empire. He also became a great patron of culture, overseeing the “Golden” age of the Ottoman Empire in its artistic, literary and architectural development. This stylish botanical motif can be found on Ottoman mosque, metal ware and textile.
Old World Weavers used a sophisticated silk, linen, acrylic and polyester blend to achieve the thickness and luster that almost reminds one of their famous silk or the beautiful Iznik tiles. Please see how many different textures are woven into this single design.
