Angel of Longevity is referring to an unique decoration element in Chinese art and craft. Being the only surviving pictographic language (all other living languages on earth right now are phonetic), Chinese writing is both a language and several thousand pictures. Some charactors with auspicious meaning have been stylized into decorative motif that frequent all forms of art, calligraphy, furniture, textile, brickwork, porcelain, painting and sculpture. 壽（longevity, "thoe") is one of the most popular. Highly stylished, 壽（longevity) are rendered into no less than 100 common shape. You don't need to know the history or linguistics to appreciate the simple beauty of this textile. Whoever use it will be blessed with good health and the prize of widsom. Attached is a hand made bowl from Korea (whose intellectuals used Chinese as the "lingua franca"). The numerous motifs or charators are actually just one: 壽（longevity)!
