The designer for this linen and silk lampas must be thrilled to hear that thale cress is actually "the darling of science". Thale cress is common grass whose scientific name Arabidopsis thaliana hints at its lineage: it’s part of the mustard family and closely related to cabbage, canola, radish, turnip and arugula.
So what makes it so special? Thale cress stands out for two things: its small genome (it was the first plant genome to be fully sequenced) and its reproductive speed (the entire cycle, from seed to plant to seed, takes just two months to complete). It’s also small in stature, produces a large number of offspring, and can reproduce asexually. But that’s not all.
Thale cress is particularly hardy: it can withstand temperatures as low as 0°C and as high as 30°C or more.

Shipping for samples is $4.99 within the United States. Samples are mailed with USPS Ground in a manila envelope. This allows us to offer tracking for all your sample orders, which customers have found very helpful. We used to offer a stamp option for samples shipping but we found that most customers wanted tracking, so we eliminated that as an option.
What if I want my samples expedited? We can offer USPS Priority mail which is 2-4 business days. Just check out for "Standard" shipping. It's the shipping that costs $8.49 and we will get that to you right away.
