Description
|
Silk and wool damask. Traditional vine and flowers with Ikat and strie effect. Shangri-La generally refers to an imaginary, idyllic paradise or utopia, often depicted as a remote and tranquil place. It's a concept popularized by James Hilton's 1933 novel The Lost Horizon, where it describes a mystical valley in the Himalayas known for its longevity and peaceful existence. This silk and wool damask successfully depicts that feeling where silk and wool are blended to create gorgeous textile that will last. Indeed that region, being part of Silk Road while produces excellent wool, specializes in such textile. The refined motif of flowers with delicately curled petals and foliage gracefully spread out on the satin background . Fully reversible, it has an almost metallic reflective quality. Application: drapery, upholstery, even garment---will be s stunning dress or overcoat. Heavy for silk, about 0.75 lb per yard MSRP $216/yard a few years ago. Such silk and wool damask retails for $300+/yard.
