Elegant reproduction in 100% Silk Damask! Based on Chinese antique design, Scalamandre revived this classic silk damask to perfection. The remnant of the antique was probably discovered in Nashville, US. Circa 1830 Chinese Export, from The Ladies’ Hermitage Association. The Hermitage,Nashville, Tn. Unlike “Chinoiserie” by Europeans, Nashville, in spite of its English name, is actually from China. The large peony blossom overflowing the bamboo basket and the silk tassels hanging from the bottom of the basket, faithfully portrays flower arrangement for celebration in ancient China. The point of curiosity is the pair of “wings” atop the basket. Those are actually a bat! Bat (蝠）has the same pronunciation as 福 （blessing) thus bats are the symbol for good blessing. One of the perfect examples of “Good designs are forever”, Nashville’s pattern has been rendered by many modern artists and in wide range of colors. Fully reversible. Iridescent. Sample Shipping
Shipping for samples is $4.99 within the United States. Samples are mailed with USPS Ground in a manila envelope. This allows us to offer tracking for all your sample orders, which customers have found very helpful. We used to offer a stamp option for samples shipping but we found that most customers wanted tracking, so we eliminated that as an option.
What if I want my samples expedited? We can offer USPS Priority mail which is 2-4 business days. Just check out for "Standard" shipping. It's the shipping that costs $8.49 and we will get that to you right away.

Fabric orders, except special and custom orders, can be returned within 30 days of receipt for refund or exchange, minus a 20% restocking fee. No questions asked. Buyer pays return shipping. Please be advised return shipping cost more than $8.99. (Most of our parcels cost $30-100 to ship & we are actually paying part of the shipping when you purchase fabrics here.) Merchandise must be in original condition (uncut, clean & no damage).
