Point de Venise refers to the lace made in Venice. Point de Venise is a Venetian needle lace from the 17th century characterized by scrolling floral patterns with additional floral motifs worked in relief (in contrast with the geometric designs of the earlier reticella). Gorgeous colors & details. So Fonthill’s print is a piece of Art History as well Economics told on cotton and linen blended union cloth! Venice, the crossroad of trading of various countries and even civilizations, is depicted in the colored stripes of flowers and birds, while Point de Venise, the lace that became a major commodity in this center of trade and art, is brilliantly printed in bright white (a rarely used color in prints).
The designer’s adoration of the art of lace is evident yet subtle. An innocent child, a mathematical engineer and a sophisticated art historian can equally enjoy this print in its own way, for its bright colored birds and flowers, for its precision and perfect proportion and for its rich stories. 20 screens were used—-just like those Venetian lace, no cost was spared.

We offer $8.99 per order flat shipping rate for orders within United States. Shipping is by UPS ground or equivalent. We strive to ship your order in 1 business day. Often same day. Within 48 States, it takes 2-4 business days for 99% of the parcels. UPS or USPS tracking is emailed to each order.
Sample Shipping
Shipping for samples is $4.99 within the United States. Samples are mailed with USPS Ground in a manila envelope. This allows us to offer tracking for all your sample orders, which customers have found very helpful. We used to offer a stamp option for samples shipping but we found that most customers wanted tracking, so we eliminated that as an option.
What if I want my samples expedited? We can offer USPS Priority mail which is 2-4 business days. Just check out for "Standard" shipping. It's the shipping that costs $8.49 and we will get that to you right away.

Fabric orders, except special and custom orders, can be returned within 30 days of receipt for refund or exchange, minus a 20% restocking fee. No questions asked. Buyer pays return shipping. Please be advised return shipping cost more than $8.99. (Most of our parcels cost $30-100 to ship & we are actually paying part of the shipping when you purchase fabrics here.) Merchandise must be in original condition (uncut, clean & no damage).
