Louis XV is a perfect & classic design from France. A reproduction of an old French pattern circa 1730. Revived by Scalamandre (thank you!) Various peony flowers really pop out against the cloud background. Layers and layers of fine silk fiber gives this lampas a depth and richness like no one else. Tree Peony, tall and majestic, different from herbacious peony which is more common, is considered the “Flower from Heaven” by Chinese who masted the art of cultivation in Tang Dynasty. Thus its blossoms are often displayed against background of clouds, which the French court artisan quickly adapted. 100% silk. Application: drapery, light to medium upholstery, garment.
